Food & Wine

3-Day Itinerary – Food & Wine

Three days is just the right amount of time to realize that here, food and wine are inseparable from the landscape. The cuisine reflects the sea, the wine reflects the terraced vineyards, and the hillside villages help you see what lies behind every glass.

Suggested Itinerary

Day 1 – Ligurian cuisine in the villages

Start with the simplest flavors: focaccia, seafood dishes, pesto, anchovies, vegetables, and local wines. Explore Riomaggiore or Manarola and enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants in the villages.

Day 2 – Wine and terraced vineyards

Dedicate the day to “heroic” viticulture. Head to Groppo or Volastra and book a tasting at a winery, wine shop, or vineyard. Here, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the wine by observing the vineyards, dry-stone walls, and cultivated slopes.

Day 3 – Shopping, aperitif, and final dinner

Return to the villages for a more relaxed day: explore shops, sample local products, enjoy an aperitif, visit a wine bar, or—why not?—go for a second tasting. Wrap up the day with a dinner that showcases Ligurian cuisine and local wines.

Good to know

  • Tastings often require reservations.
  • Wear comfortable shoes for vineyard experiences.
