In case of an orange weather alert for thunderstorms or severe weather conditions, some activities and services in the area may be subject to changes or temporary suspension.

During the alert, for safety reasons:

• some businesses, especially along the main streets and in the most exposed areas, may open later, close temporarily or change their opening hours;
• boat services may be suspended;
• the Cinque Terre trail network is closed, including the Sentiero Azzurro and the Via dell’Amore;
• Outdoor mobility may be limited, especially during heavy rain, high winds, or thunderstorms

Unless otherwise stated by official communications, trains generally continue to operate.

Where to eat during the alert

During an orange weather alert, some restaurants remain open to provide a service for visitors staying in the area.

In Riomaggiore, the following restaurants are guaranteed to be open:

• Old School
• La Zorza
• Il Cila
• A Piè de Mà, near the railway station
• Pizzeria Donna Lucia
• Ristorante La Torpedine

In Manarola, the following restaurants are guaranteed to be open:

• Trattoria Dal Billy
• Aristide
• La Scogliera

In the other Cinque Terre villages, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso, most restaurants and bars generally remain open. Restaurants and bars in La Spezia are also normally open.

The measures adopted during the alert are intended to protect everyone’s safety. Please always follow the instructions issued by local authorities and limit any non-essential travel until the alert has ended.
