3-Day Itinerary – Outdoor
Three days offer the luxury of time to choose your own paths: a coastal ascent, a walk through terraced vineyards, a high-altitude trek, or a historic trail weaving between villages. This itinerary is deeply experiential, designed for travelers who wish to feel the landscape, not just look at it.
Suggested itinerary
Day 1 – Riomaggiore and Montenero
Hike up to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montenero via Trail 593 or 593V. It offers a wonderful first view from above: the village, the sea, the terraced fields, and the coastline all blend into a single landscape.
Day 2 – Manarola, Volastra, and the vineyards
Spend the second day exploring the agricultural landscape above Manarola. Hike up toward Volastra along Trail 506, or take the bus to reduce the elevation gain and walk through Volastra, past vineyards, and along scenic stretches like Trail 586.
Day 3 – Ridges, connecting trails, or the Via Beccara
Choose your route for the third day based on your fitness level. For a historic and challenging route, consider Via Beccara (Trail 531) between Riomaggiore and Manarola. For a longer but less steep experience, opt for the Strada dei Santuari (Trail 530) or scenic connecting trails like 532 and 532C.
