Suggested Itinerary
Start from Riomaggiore’s small harbor, one of the village’s most picturesque spots. Stop among the boats, the rocks, and the colorful houses, then head to the cliff area or the pebble beach. It’s a great spot for a break by the water—always keeping in mind sea conditions, safety, and crowds.
Then head to Manarola. The marina is perfect for viewing the village from below, amid dark rocks, water, and boats pulled ashore. Weather permitting, treat yourself to a relaxing break on the rocky shores or a leisurely moment by the water without turning the day into a rush.
In the afternoon, choose between a guided boat tour or the ferry. The tour is slower-paced, scenic, and ideal for those who want to experience the coast at a leisurely pace; the ferry is more practical for getting around the coastline while still enjoying the view from the sea. The most picturesque time is late afternoon, when the coast changes color and the villages seem to light up against the rocks.
